Amid the ongoing tensions caused by the Israel–Iran conflict , a group of 59 Telugu nationals who were stranded in Gulf countries have safely begun their journey back to India. The group departed on Tuesday night from Dammam International Airport in Saudi Arabia .
The evacuation was facilitated with the support of APNRTS (Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society) and the NRI wing of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) , following instructions from Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh .
Efforts to Assist Stranded Telugu Workers
The evacuation operation was organized after reports emerged that several Telugu citizens working in Gulf countries were facing difficulties due to the regional instability triggered by the Israel–Iran conflict. Concerns over travel restrictions and safety prompted immediate coordination efforts to assist those seeking to return home.
