Amid the ongoing tensions caused by the Israel–Iran conflict, a group of 59 Telugu nationals who were stranded in Gulf countries have safely begun their journey back to India. The group departed on Tuesday night from Dammam International Airport in Saudi Arabia.

The evacuation was facilitated with the support of APNRTS (Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society) and the NRI wing of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), following instructions from Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh.

Efforts to Assist Stranded Telugu Workers

The evacuation operation was organized after reports emerged that several Telugu citizens working in Gulf countries were facing difficulties due to the regional instability triggered by the Israel–Iran conflict. Concerns over travel restrictions and safety prompted immediate coordination efforts to assist those seeking to return home.

Authorities and volunteers worked together to arrange travel logistics and ensure that the stranded individuals could reach the airport and depart safely.

Coordination Between APNRTS and NRI TDP

The Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society played a key role in coordinating with local authorities, volunteers, and community organizations to facilitate the safe departure of the affected individuals.

Members of the NRI TDP network also extended assistance by helping stranded Telugu workers with travel arrangements, documentation support, and airport coordination.

These collaborative efforts ensured that the group could successfully board a flight from Dammam and begin their journey back to India.

Departure from Dammam Airport

The group departed from Dammam Airport in Saudi Arabia late Tuesday night. Officials confirmed that all 59 individuals were safely accommodated on the flight and are expected to reach India soon.

Family members in Andhra Pradesh have expressed relief after learning that their relatives were able to leave the Gulf region safely.

Support for Overseas Telugu Communities

Organizations such as APNRTS regularly provide support to Telugu communities living abroad, especially during emergency situations. Their services include legal assistance, crisis management, travel coordination, and welfare support for migrant workers.

In times of geopolitical tensions or regional crises, such assistance becomes critical for ensuring the safety and well-being of overseas citizens.

Continued Monitoring of the Situation

Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation in the Gulf region closely. Officials have assured that additional assistance will be provided if more Telugu nationals require help returning to India due to the evolving geopolitical situation.

The successful departure of the 59 individuals represents a coordinated humanitarian effort aimed at ensuring the safety of Indian citizens working overseas.
