Telangana Plans Single Window for Film Industry | Hyderabad to Become Global Cinema Hub

The Telangana government has taken a major step towards transforming Hyderabad into a global film production hub. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced the implementation of a single window clearance system to provide all necessary permissions for film production under one platform.

Single Window System for Film Permissions

The proposed system aims to simplify approvals related to film shooting, location permissions, police clearance, and other regulatory requirements. By reducing bureaucratic delays, the government intends to make Hyderabad one of the most filmmaker-friendly destinations in India.

The Chief Minister emphasized that just like Hyderabad has emerged as a hub for IT and pharmaceutical industries, the state now aims to position itself as a global cinema hub.

Gaddar Film Awards Ceremony in Hyderabad

The announcement was made during the prestigious Telangana Gaddar Film Awards ceremony held at the Hyderabad International Exhibition Centre (HITEX).

Several prominent personalities from the film industry attended the event, including legendary actors, directors, and producers. The event marked the revival of state film awards after nearly a decade, replacing the earlier Nandi Awards with awards named after revolutionary poet Gaddar.

Revival of Film Awards After 10 Years

The government presented awards covering the past ten years, recognizing excellence across multiple categories. The move was positioned as a responsibility of the Telangana government to honor cinematic contributions.

The Chief Minister stated that cinema is not just entertainment but also a powerful tool for social awareness and transformation.

Legacy of Telugu Film Industry in Hyderabad

Revanth Reddy highlighted the contributions of industry legends who shifted the Telugu film industry from Chennai to Hyderabad. Their efforts laid the foundation for what has now become one of India’s biggest film ecosystems.

He also acknowledged the role of major infrastructure developments like film studios and production facilities that helped the industry establish itself permanently in Hyderabad.

Netflix and Global Expansion Vision

The Chief Minister pointed out that global OTT giant Netflix has already established its presence in Hyderabad, indicating the city's growing importance in international content production.

He stated that the government is ready to support international studios and encouraged Hollywood productions to consider Hyderabad as a filming destination.

Hyderabad as a Safe and Investment-Friendly City

The government assured full security and support for investors and filmmakers. Telangana is being promoted as a stable and talent-rich ecosystem capable of supporting large-scale global productions.
