🧾 Story

Yadagiri (Harsh Roshan) and Raaji (Sridevi Apalla) are cousins who grow up sharing a deep bond that eventually turns into love. While Raaji excels academically, Yadagiri remains a school dropout with big dreams. As life moves forward, Raaji distances herself and forgets their past, but Yadagiri continues to hold onto his love.

Determined to prove himself, Yadagiri sets out to establish a career in the music industry. The rest of the film follows his journey of self-growth, ambition, and his attempt to win back Raaji’s love.

👍 Plus Points

  • Harsh Roshan delivers a neat performance with innocence and energy
  • Sridevi Apalla looks natural and shares decent chemistry with the lead
  • Some comedy scenes in the first half work reasonably well
  • The song “Thippukuntunnaav” is visually vibrant
  • Vijai Bulganin’s music stands out and adds value

👎 Minus Points

  • Routine and outdated storyline with no freshness
  • Second half becomes slow and boring
  • Weak screenplay fails to keep the audience engaged
  • Senior actors like Sai Kumar are underutilized
  • Climax twist lacks emotional impact
  • Editing could have been much tighter

🎥 Technical Aspects

Vijai Bulganin’s music is one of the few highlights, with a couple of songs leaving a good impression. Cinematography by Satish Mutyala is decent, capturing rural settings effectively. However, the editing by Siva Mupparaju is weak, especially in the second half where the film drags significantly.

Director Sathish Javvaji fails to bring novelty to a familiar story. While the first half offers some engaging moments, the narrative loses grip completely in the latter half.

📊 Verdict

Overall, Band Melam turns out to be a disappointing romantic drama. While the lead actors put in sincere efforts and the music works in parts, the predictable storyline and dull second half make it a tedious watch. With better writing and execution, the film could have been much more impactful.

Final Rating: ⭐ 2.5/5 — Average at best, can be skipped.
