No Shortage of LPG or Petroleum in India, Says Central Government
The Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has issued an important clarification regarding the availability of cooking gas and petroleum products in the country. The ministry stated that there is no shortage of LPG or petroleum supplies in India and urged citizens not to panic or engage in unnecessary bulk bookings.
LPG Production Increased by 30 Percent
According to the ministry, the government has taken proactive steps to ensure uninterrupted supply of cooking gas across the country. LPG production has been increased by nearly 30 percent to meet the rising demand from households.
Officials said the enhanced production capacity is sufficient to maintain stable supply chains and prevent shortages in both urban and rural regions.
Kerosene Allocation to States
In addition to LPG supply, the central government has also confirmed that kerosene allocations are being provided to states to meet local requirements. The measure aims to ensure that essential fuel supplies remain accessible, particularly in areas where kerosene is still widely used.
Action Against Black Marketing
The Petroleum Ministry also warned against illegal practices in the distribution of fuel products. Authorities stated that strict action is being taken against black marketing and any attempt to manipulate fuel supply in the market.
Monitoring mechanisms have been strengthened to identify and prevent irregularities in fuel distribution networks.
Public Advised Not to Panic
The ministry urged the public not to resort to panic buying or excessive bookings of LPG cylinders. Officials emphasized that the supply system is stable and capable of meeting consumer demand without disruption.
Citizens were requested to continue regular booking practices and avoid creating artificial demand pressures that could affect distribution efficiency.
With increased production, steady supply, and strict monitoring of distribution channels, the government has assured that fuel availability across the country remains secure.
