Allu Cinemas Inaugurated in Hyderabad: CM Revanth Reddy Calls for Telugu Cinema to Compete with Hollywood
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stated that the film industry should grow as a major sector contributing to the state’s development. He assured that the Telangana government would continue to recognize cinema as an important industry and extend full support for its growth and expansion.
The Chief Minister made these remarks while inaugurating the Allu Cinemas multiplex built by the family of renowned film producer Allu Aravind at Kokapet in Hyderabad. The newly built multiplex features one of the largest Dolby theatre screens in the country and is expected to become a prominent entertainment destination in the city.
Government Support for Film Industry Growth
During the inauguration event, Revanth Reddy said the Telangana government wants the film industry to evolve into a strong sector similar to the state’s thriving IT and pharmaceutical industries. He noted that cinema has a significant impact on society, particularly on the middle class, influencing lifestyle choices, aspirations, and social perspectives.
According to the Chief Minister, films often inspire people and shape their thinking in many ways. Because of this influence, the government considers the film sector an important contributor not only to entertainment but also to the broader cultural and economic development of the state.
Vision for Global Competitiveness
Revanth Reddy emphasized that the Telugu film industry should not limit itself to competing only at the national level. Instead, it should aim to reach global standards and compete with the Hollywood film industry.
He pointed out that while audiences in India have traditionally watched Hollywood films for their scale and technological quality, the Telugu film industry now has the potential to create films of similar global standards. Achieving this goal, he said, would require stronger knowledge sharing, technological advancements, and the creation of a dedicated ecosystem for filmmaking.
The Chief Minister also suggested that Hyderabad could emerge as a knowledge hub for cinema, where creative talent, advanced technology, and global collaboration come together to produce world-class films.
Allu Cinemas: A New Landmark for Hyderabad
The newly opened Allu Cinemas multiplex has been built with modern infrastructure and cutting-edge technology designed to enhance the theatrical movie experience. The theatre complex includes a large Dolby screen that is expected to attract film enthusiasts and strengthen Hyderabad’s reputation as a major hub for film production and exhibition.
Revanth Reddy congratulated the Allu family for investing in such a large-scale cinema project and expressed confidence that the theatre would bring recognition to Telangana’s entertainment sector.
He noted that initiatives like Allu Cinemas contribute to strengthening the cinema ecosystem in the state and provide audiences with world-class viewing experiences.
Industry Leaders Attend the Event
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several prominent personalities from both the political and film industries. Among the dignitaries present were Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, MLA Kunduru Jaiveer, and leading film producer Allu Aravind.
Actor Allu Arjun was also present at the event along with multiple filmmakers and cinema personalities. Dil Raju, Chairman of the Telangana Film Development Corporation, also attended the ceremony along with several other industry figures.
Hyderabad’s Growing Film Ecosystem
Hyderabad has long been one of India’s major film production centers, hosting large studios, post-production facilities, and numerous cinema halls. With the continued growth of the Telugu film industry and its increasing global reach, infrastructure projects such as Allu Cinemas are expected to further strengthen the city’s position in the global entertainment landscape.
As the Telugu film industry continues to expand its presence across national and international markets, leaders believe Hyderabad could play a crucial role in shaping the future of global cinema from India.
