Nara Lokesh Meets ZP High School Students at Assembly, Emphasises Value of Mother Tongue

Students from Sugali ZP High School in Satt enapalli constituency who visited the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Wednesday had an opportunity to interact with Education Minister Nara Lokesh in the Assembly lobby.

The students were present to observe the Assembly proceedings as part of an educational exposure visit. The Minister engaged them in a brief conversation, asking about their experience of watching legislative discussions firsthand.

Students Share Their Experience

Responding to the Minister’s query, students said they gained new insights into governance, public policy discussions and legislative procedures. Teachers accompanying the group stated that such visits help students understand democratic institutions beyond classroom textbooks.

Message on Language and Education

During the interaction, Nara Lokesh advised the students to pursue proficiency in English while not neglecting their mother tongue, Telugu. He emphasised that multilingual skills enhance opportunities but preserving cultural and linguistic identity remains equally important.

He encouraged students to focus on academics while also staying aware of social and civic responsibilities.

Review of Student Welfare Schemes

The Minister also enquired about the implementation of key education initiatives such as the Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Vidyarthi Mitra program and the Dokka Seethamma mid-day meal scheme. He sought feedback from students regarding the quality and accessibility of benefits provided under these schemes.

Officials present during the interaction noted that direct feedback from students helps the department assess ground-level implementation and identify areas requiring improvement.

Educational Exposure to Governance

Visits to the Assembly are often organised to familiarise students with legislative processes and democratic functioning. Educators say such experiences broaden awareness about policymaking and encourage civic engagement among young learners.

The interaction concluded with the Minister wishing the students success in their academic pursuits and encouraging them to strive for excellence while upholding cultural values.
