CM Revanth Reddy Invites Global Giants to Build Hyderabad as World Life Sciences Capital
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy called upon global life sciences companies, scientists, and industry leaders to partner with Hyderabad in its next phase of growth — transforming from the “Vaccine Capital of the World” into a comprehensive global bio-sciences hub.
He made the appeal while inaugurating the 23rd edition of BioAsia 2026, an international life sciences summit held at Hitec City, Hyderabad, alongside Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu.
“From Vaccine Capital to Bio-Sciences Capital”
Addressing delegates from across the globe, the Chief Minister emphasized that Telangana is no longer competing with other Indian states but with leading global clusters in life sciences and biotechnology.
“Hyderabad is already the vaccine capital of the world. Now, we are ready to emerge as the global bio-sciences capital. Telangana means business. Telangana is rising. Be partners in this growth,” he said.
He assured investors that the state government offers a stable, transparent, and future-ready ecosystem for research institutions, corporates, startups, and MSMEs.
BioAsia 2026 Theme: TechBio Unleashed
The summit is being conducted under the theme “TechBio Unleashed – AI, Automation, and Transformational Changes in Life Sciences.” The focus is on how artificial intelligence, digital platforms, automation, and advanced analytics are reshaping biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare sectors.
The Chief Minister highlighted that strong collaboration between government, academia, startups, and industry is essential to harness the ongoing technological revolution in life sciences.
Investment and Policy Push
Over the last two years, Telangana has attracted investments worth over ₹73,000 crore in the life sciences sector. During the recent World Economic Forum at Davos, the state unveiled a new Life Sciences Policy and expanded Genome Valley, reinforcing its position as a global innovation cluster.
The government has also launched “One Bio” to promote world-class research and innovation, while accelerating the development of the Green Pharma City.
The Chief Minister outlined the broader vision under “Telangana Rising 2047,” aiming for a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047.
Global Participation and Recognition
BioAsia 2026 witnessed participation from over 500 leading organizations and more than 4,000 delegates worldwide, representing pharma, biotech, bulk drugs, vaccines, healthcare, and biosciences sectors.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that BioAsia will achieve international recognition comparable to the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Genome Valley Excellence Award 2026
During the event, the Chief Minister presented the Genome Valley Excellence Award 2026 to Professor Bruce L. Levine from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, recognizing his contributions to biomedical research and innovation.
Hyderabad’s Evolution
Recalling the early days of BioAsia 23 years ago, the Chief Minister noted that Hyderabad was once known primarily for Charminar, biryani, pharmaceuticals, and software. Today, it stands as a global vaccine manufacturing powerhouse and a preferred destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs).
With visionary leadership, skilled human resources, premier academic institutions, and clear industrial policies, Hyderabad continues to strengthen its reputation as a global centre for research, design, and life sciences innovation.
Conclusion
BioAsia 2026 signals Telangana’s determination to lead the next wave of global life sciences transformation. By combining AI, automation, policy support, and global partnerships, Hyderabad is positioning itself as a world-class bio-sciences capital, inviting global investors and innovators to be part of its ambitious journey.
