RTI Applications & Appeals Now Fully Online in Andhra Pradesh
The Andhra Pradesh Government has officially made the Right to Information (RTI) application and appeal process completely digital. As per G.O. No. 25, RTI applications and appeals will now be handled exclusively through an online system.
This initiative follows directions from the Supreme Court to strengthen IT-enabled transparency mechanisms. The new digital platform is named RTI Request & Appeals Management Information System (RTIMIS).

The system came into effect on February 18, 2026.
Key Features of RTIMIS
- Online registration of RTI applications
- Online payment of application fees
- SMS and Email status updates
- Public Information Officer (PIO) reply within 30 days
- Facility to file First Appeal if required
- Provision for Second Appeal
Timeline for Processing
- District Nodal Officer: Must forward application within 5 days.
- PIO: Must provide information within 30 days.
- First Appellate Authority (FAA): Decision within 30 days.
- Second Appeal: Must be filed within 90 days.

With RTIMIS, citizens can now:

- Track application status online
- File appeals digitally
- Receive responses electronically
The move is expected to improve transparency, reduce paperwork, and ensure timely access to information under the RTI Act.
