In a move aimed at enhancing awareness about legislative processes among students, the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Secretariat has announced that students from schools, colleges, and other educational institutions across the state will be permitted to observe Assembly proceedings from the visitors’ gallery.
The decision has been taken following instructions issued by the Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu.
Objective of the Initiative
According to the official press release, the initiative is intended to educate students about the functioning of the legislature and to promote civic awareness regarding democratic institutions.
By allowing students to directly witness Assembly proceedings, the Secretariat aims to provide practical exposure to legislative debates, discussions, and decision-making processes.
Eligibility and Participation
Students from schools, colleges, and other recognised educational institutions within Andhra Pradesh are eligible to participate in the programme.
Interested institutions must apply through their respective Headmasters or Principals.
Application Procedure
The Heads of Institutions are required to submit an official request letter along with a list of students proposed for the visit. The request must be sent via email to:

The application must include:
- Official request letter with signature and institutional seal of the Headmaster or Principal
- Scanned list of students containing names and Aadhaar numbers
Duration and Batch Size
Each batch of students will be allowed to observe Assembly proceedings for a maximum duration of 45 minutes.
A maximum of 30 students per batch will be permitted entry into the visitors’ gallery at a time.
