Two More Quantum Centres to Come Up in April

India’s First 133-Qubit Quantum Computer Target

The system is expected to significantly enhance the country’s computational capabilities, enabling breakthroughs in fields such as cryptography, climate modelling, pharmaceutical research, and advanced materials.
According to project timelines, the first quantum computer under the Amaravati Quantum Valley initiative is expected to be operational by the end of 2026.
Focus on Quantum, AI and Cyber Security
The Quantum Valley will serve as a multidisciplinary research hub, with dedicated focus areas including quantum technologies, artificial intelligence, and cyber security. These sectors are considered critical for national security, economic growth, and digital transformation.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu described Quantum Valley as a game changer for Amaravati, drawing a parallel with Hyderabad’s HITEC City, which transformed Telangana into a major IT destination.
He stated that just as HITEC City reshaped Hyderabad’s economic future, Quantum Valley has the potential to place Amaravati on the global map as a future technology capital for India.
