Pawan Kalyan Keeps His Word: Gollaprolu Housing Colony Bridge Completed Within a Year
Pithapuram MLA and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has fulfilled a key promise made to the people of Gollaprolu during the devastating floods of 2024. Within a year, the long-pending bridge connecting the Gollaprolu Housing Colony has been completed, bringing major relief to residents who had struggled for decades.
During the floods, Pawan Kalyan personally visited the submerged areas by boat and listened to the hardships faced by locals. Residents had repeatedly highlighted how the absence of a proper bridge caused severe difficulties for students, women, farmers, and emergency services.
True to his commitment, the Roads & Buildings (R&B) Department completed the bridge over the Suddhagadda canal at an estimated cost of ₹3.05 crore. The project resolved an issue that had remained unresolved for more than a decade.
With the bridge now operational, access to schools, workplaces, markets, and healthcare facilities has significantly improved. Local residents say the bridge has restored normalcy and safety to daily life.
Residents acknowledged that the project stands as an example of accountable governance, where assurances made during crises are translated into action.
