Andhra MLA Arava Sridhar Allegations News

Allegations of sexual harassment have been made against Andhra Pradesh MLA Arava Sridhar by a government employee. The allegations surfaced publicly after the woman approached authorities with claims relating to her interactions with the MLA over the past year and a half.

According to the woman’s statement, she came into contact with Arava Sridhar through Facebook shortly after his election victory. She has alleged that the interaction gradually developed into a relationship under pressure, leading to a physical relationship.

Allegations Made by the Woman

In her recorded statement, the woman alleged that she was forced into a physical relationship and claimed that she was subjected to pressure leading to abortions. She further alleged that threats were made to silence her, including threats involving her three-year-old son and her husband.

The woman has stated that she possesses WhatsApp chat records, video call logs, and recorded conversations which she claims support her allegations.

Status of Legal Complaint

As of now, no formal police complaint has been registered against Arava Sridhar in connection with the allegations. The matter has, however, gained attention following the woman’s statements and the circulation of supporting material.

Officials have clarified that the absence of a police case does not amount to a conclusion and that procedural steps may follow depending on the findings of the inquiry.

Response from Arava Sridhar’s Family

Arava Sridhar’s mother has rejected the allegations, describing them as false and motivated. She has claimed that the woman is attempting to blackmail the family.

According to her statement, a complaint was filed against the woman on January 7, alleging harassment and false accusations.

Action by Authorities

The State Women’s Commission has taken cognizance of the matter and initiated a probe to examine the allegations and counter-claims. The commission is expected to seek statements from both sides and review the materials submitted.

The inquiry is currently at a preliminary stage, and no conclusions have been drawn.

Political Reactions

Jana Sena Party leadership has sought an internal report on the issue. Party chief Pawan Kalyan has reportedly asked for details regarding the allegations and the status of inquiries.

Opposition parties have reacted strongly, demanding strict action and calling for Arava Sridhar’s arrest, citing the seriousness of the allegations.

Current Position

At present, the matter remains under examination by the Women’s Commission. No arrest or formal charges have been announced, and authorities have emphasized that due process will be followed.

Further action will depend on the outcome of the inquiry and any subsequent legal proceedings.
