No One Will Be Left Without Support in Development Projects: CM Revanth Reddy
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stated that the government will ensure that people displaced by development projects in the state will receive full support and fair compensation. He made it clear that the government will not leave any affected families without assistance, particularly in large-scale projects such as the Musi Riverfront development in Hyderabad.
According to the Chief Minister, major infrastructure projects sometimes require land acquisition, which can cause temporary hardship for some residents. However, he emphasized that the government is committed to providing adequate rehabilitation and financial compensation to those affected.
Foundation for Radial Road Interchange and Eco Park Inauguration
Revanth Reddy made these remarks after laying the foundation stone for the Radial Road–2 interchange connecting to the Budwel layout. Following the ceremony, he inaugurated the Eco Park at Kotwalaguda and addressed a gathering organized at the site.
During the event, the Chief Minister explained the importance of modern urban planning for Hyderabad and highlighted the government’s vision to transform the city into a cleaner and more sustainable metropolitan area.
Musi Riverfront Project to Transform Hyderabad
The Chief Minister noted that the Musi River, which flows through Hyderabad, has become heavily polluted over the years. He said that with changing times and rapid urban growth, the city requires new development strategies that improve living conditions for residents.
Revanth Reddy pointed out that many families currently live in difficult conditions along polluted areas due to lack of alternatives. The government’s objective, he said, is to relocate these families to better housing facilities rather than allowing them to continue living in unsafe environments.
He assured that people living in areas affected by the Musi Riverfront project will be provided housing and other essential facilities so that no family is left without support.
Compensation and Rehabilitation for Displaced Families
The Chief Minister acknowledged that development initiatives such as the construction of regional ring roads, radial roads, and high-speed rail corridors may require land acquisition. While losing land can be difficult for property owners, he said the government has the responsibility to provide compensation that allows them to purchase land or establish new homes elsewhere.
Under the Musi Riverfront development plan, families who lose their land will be provided housing through the Indiramma housing scheme within the same constituencies where they currently reside.
Revanth Reddy stressed that the government will work with affected communities to ensure the development process is carried out through dialogue and cooperation.
Inspired by Riverfront Projects in Other Cities
The Chief Minister said the Musi Riverfront project is being planned on the lines of successful riverfront developments in other cities across India. He cited examples such as the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad, the Yamuna riverfront projects in Delhi, and development works along the Ganga River in Uttar Pradesh.
According to him, similar development along the Musi River will create new opportunities for business, tourism, and public recreation in Hyderabad.
The plan includes establishing commercial spaces, night-time economic activity, and tourism infrastructure that could generate employment opportunities for local residents.
Vision to Make Hyderabad a Global City
Revanth Reddy also spoke about the long-term vision for Hyderabad’s growth. He said the city has historically been known for its iconic architecture and cultural heritage, but over time several parts of the city have suffered from unplanned development and environmental degradation.
The government now aims to restore Hyderabad’s reputation by modernizing infrastructure and creating cleaner public spaces.
He also referred to earlier infrastructure projects such as the establishment of major IT hubs and the development of the international airport in Hyderabad. Although such projects initially affected some residents, they later became major economic assets for the region.
Future Infrastructure and Transport Plans
The Chief Minister said the government is working toward building a large-scale urban development project known as the Bharat Future City, which aims to expand Hyderabad into a modern global metropolitan hub.
He also announced that the Shamshabad region is expected to become a key hub for future bullet train connectivity. Proposed high-speed rail links could connect Hyderabad to major cities including Bengaluru, Amaravati, and Chennai.
According to the Chief Minister, most of the required approvals for these infrastructure initiatives have already been secured. He also mentioned that several international companies are expected to explore opportunities in the region as development projects move forward.
Officials and Public Representatives Attend Event
Several public representatives and officials attended the event along with the Chief Minister. Among those present were Members of Parliament Mallu Ravi and Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, Legislative Council Chief Whip Mahender Reddy, MLAs Prakash Goud and Mal Reddy Rangareddy, along with other local leaders and government representatives.
Before addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister also visited the newly developed Eco Hill Park and inaugurated a Birds Aviary facility as part of the city’s environmental and tourism initiatives.
