Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has unveiled a large-scale development blueprint aimed at transforming Warangal and Karimnagar into model urban centres through integrated infrastructure, environmental projects, education, employment generation and social welfare initiatives.
The Chief Minister made the announcement while addressing the “Praja Palana – Pragati Baata” public programme held at Gumlapur village in Choppadandi constituency of Karimnagar district.
Outer Ring Roads and Integrated Urban Planning
As part of the urban expansion strategy, the Chief Minister said that outer ring roads (ORRs) would be completed for both Warangal and Karimnagar. He added that road connectivity between the two cities would be widened and upgraded to ensure seamless transport and economic integration.
Revanth Reddy stated that Warangal and Karimnagar would be developed as twin cities and positioned as benchmark municipal corporations at the national level.
Large-Scale Dump Yard and Power Generation Project
The Chief Minister announced plans to establish a mega dump yard between Warangal and Karimnagar, which will also house a power generation facility based on waste-to-energy technology.
The project is expected to address solid waste management challenges while contributing to renewable energy generation.
Foundation Stone for Educational Infrastructure
During the programme, Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for an Advanced Technology Centre (ATC) in Choppadandi, to be built at a cost of ₹45.15 crore.
He also inaugurated the foundation works for a government degree college in Gangadhara mandal, with an estimated cost of ₹5 crore.
Temple Development Ahead of Godavari Pushkarams 2027
The Chief Minister announced a dedicated development plan for temples located between Basara in Adilabad district and Bhadrachalam in Khammam district, in preparation for the Godavari Pushkarams in 2027.
He said that if required, the government would spend ₹4,000–5,000 crore to develop temples, pilgrimage facilities and eco-tourism zones along the Godavari belt.
Farmer Welfare and Agricultural Investment
Revanth Reddy reiterated that the state government is committed to making agriculture profitable, stating that Telangana has spent ₹1.15 lakh crore on the farm sector — one of the highest allocations in the country.
He listed initiatives such as loan waivers up to ₹2 lakh, minimum support prices, bonus for fine rice, farmer insurance and Rythu Bharosa.
Employment Generation and Education Support
The Chief Minister said that 70,000 government jobs have been filled over the past two years.
To improve educational infrastructure for disadvantaged communities, the government is constructing 100 Young India Integrated Residential Schools. He also announced increases of 40% in mess charges and 200% in cosmetic charges for students in social welfare hostels.
Women Empowerment Initiatives
Highlighting women-centric welfare schemes, Revanth Reddy said that ₹27,000 crore in interest-free loans has been extended to women self-help groups.
Additional initiatives include free bus travel for women in RTC services, allocation of 1,000 buses to women’s groups, petrol pumps, and 1,000 MW solar power projects.
Government Accountability and Vision
The Chief Minister stated that the government is prepared to present a detailed account of its performance over the past two years on the floor of the Assembly.
He concluded by asserting that Telangana has the capacity to emerge as the number one state in the country through planned development and governance.

Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar and Adluri Laxman Kumar addressed the gathering. Several public representatives from the undivided Karimnagar district were present.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister handed over a ₹110.10 crore cheque to the Karimnagar district women’s federation.
