Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Thursday made strong remarks regarding the controversy surrounding the ghee used in Tirumala laddu prasadam, following the findings of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Addressing a media conference held at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office, Pawan Kalyan spoke on the investigation outcomes and reiterated the coalition government’s stand on accountability in the matter.
CBI Findings on Ghee Source
According to the Deputy Chief Minister, the CBI investigation concluded that the ghee allegedly used in the preparation of Tirumala laddus did not originate from pure milk sources.
He clarified, however, that the investigation has not issued a clean chit to those accused in the adulterated ghee case, and that further accountability remains necessary.
Statements on Religious Sentiments
Pawan Kalyan alleged that laddus prepared using the disputed ghee were sent to the Ayodhya Ram Temple during the idol consecration ceremony.
He described the issue as an attack on Hindu faith, stating that matters connected to Tirumala require the highest level of sanctity and responsibility.
“Those responsible must seek forgiveness from Lord Venkateswara,” he said during the briefing.
Government’s Stand on Action
The Deputy Chief Minister asserted that the coalition government would not spare those found guilty in the adulterated ghee case.
He stated that attempts to undermine the sanctity of Tirumala would be dealt with firmly, adding that the government would pursue the matter to its logical conclusion.
Political and Administrative Context
The Tirumala laddu issue has remained a sensitive subject involving faith, temple administration, and governance.
Officials have emphasised that the investigation is being handled by central agencies and that conclusions will be drawn strictly based on evidence and legal procedure.
Ongoing Developments
The state government has reiterated its commitment to preserving the purity and traditions of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and ensuring transparency in procurement and quality control processes.
Further official communication is expected as investigative and administrative reviews continue.
