Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has issued a firm message to ministers, secretaries, and senior officials, stating that every rupee spent from the public treasury must translate into tangible benefits for the people. Addressing a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat alongside Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, he underlined the coalition government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and people-centric governance.

Overcoming Financial Constraints With Discipline

Acknowledging that the state is facing financial challenges, Pawan Kalyan said the government is determined to move forward without compromising on development and welfare. He credited the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the experience of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu as key pillars supporting the coalition’s administrative approach.

“Even in difficult financial conditions, we are not stepping back from our responsibility towards public welfare. With the support of the Central Government, we are pushing ahead with development projects. In such times, every rupee becomes extremely valuable,” he said.

Rural development works underway in Andhra Pradesh

Massive Investments in Rural and Tribal Development

The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted the scale of ongoing development works across Andhra Pradesh, particularly in rural and tribal regions. Under the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development departments, the government has focused on strengthening basic infrastructure and essential services.

He noted that ₹2,500 crore was spent under the first phase of the Palle Panduga programme, followed by ₹5,700 crore under Palle Panduga 2.0. Additionally, ₹1,005 crore has been allocated under the Adavi Thalli Bata scheme to improve amenities in tribal areas.

Further, constituency-level development works worth ₹2,123 crore are being executed using SASKI funds, taking the total value of monitored projects to ₹11,328 crore.

Jal Jeevan Mission and Urban Green Spaces

Pawan Kalyan also spoke about the ambitious Jal Jeevan Mission, under which projects worth ₹28,000 crore have been approved. Of these, works amounting to nearly ₹10,000 crore have already commenced to ensure safe drinking water supply across the state.

In addition, the Forest Department is developing urban forests at a cost of ₹200 crore, reflecting the government’s focus on environmental sustainability alongside infrastructure growth.

No Room for Delay or Negligence

The Deputy Chief Minister expressed concern over lapses at the field level, stating that despite clear decisions at the top, implementation gaps and complaints are still surfacing. He cautioned officials against delays, negligence, and lack of coordination.

“Works that have been started must be completed within the stipulated time. Some shortcomings are still visible at the ground level. These must be corrected immediately. Field-level staff carry a huge responsibility in implementing government decisions, and they must discharge it with sincerity and honesty,” he asserted.

Transparency as Core Governance Principle

Calling for a shift away from indifference, Pawan Kalyan said transparency is the coalition government’s defining principle. He urged senior officials to actively guide and monitor lower-level staff to ensure that policy decisions translate into real outcomes for citizens.

“If everyone works together with commitment, the decisions taken within four walls will meaningfully reach people on the ground. The government will stand firmly with officials who work honestly and efficiently,” he concluded.

The meeting reinforced the coalition government’s message that public money must be spent responsibly, efficiently, and with measurable impact, especially at a time when fiscal discipline and public trust are both critical.
