DTA Instructions on Retirement Benefits Processing System (RBPS)
The Directorate of Treasuries and Accounts (DTA) has issued detailed guidelines regarding the Retirement Benefits Processing System (RBPS), which is being implemented through the NIDHI Platform for streamlined pension and retirement benefit processing.
To ensure smooth processing of retirement benefits without delays, employees and concerned offices must complete specific mandatory documentation well in advance.
Mandatory Documents and Entries for RBPS Application Processing
1. Service Register (SR) Update
The Service Register must be updated accurately and cross-verified with HRMS / CFMS data. Any discrepancies should be corrected before initiating the RBPS application.
2. Nomination Entries
Nomination details must be entered for the following components:
- DCRG (Death-Cum-Retirement Gratuity)
- Commutation
- GPF
- APGLI
- GIS
- EEL (Earned Leave Encashment)
- Death Relief
- Life Time Arrears
3. Family Members Declaration
Family details must be entered and authenticated through Biometric Authentication. Proper declaration ensures smooth pension sanction and family benefit claims.
4. Home Town Declaration
The employee’s Home Town details must be correctly declared and recorded in the system.
5. Service Verification Certificate
Periodic service verification must be completed, and the certificate should be available for pension processing.
6. GIS Entry Certificate
Group Insurance Scheme (GIS) entries must be updated and verified before submission.
7. Leave Entries
All leave records, including Earned Leave and other leave balances, must be completely updated in the system.
8. Other Required Entries
Any additional pending service-related entries must be updated as required to avoid technical objections during pension processing.
Important Advisory
Officials have emphasized that employees approaching retirement should verify and update all records well in advance. Delays in updating Service Register, nominations, or biometric authentication may result in postponement of pension and other retirement benefits.
To avoid last-minute complications, departments are advised to conduct pre-retirement audits and ensure all mandatory entries are completed through the NIDHI RBPS system.
