Pawan Kalyan Issues Strong Statement on Sanatana Dharma and Tirupati Laddu Controversy
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has delivered one of his strongest public statements yet, addressing the sensitive issue surrounding the Tirupati Laddu controversy and what he described as the growing neglect of Sanatana Dharma in political and administrative spheres. His comments, which rapidly spread across social media, have ignited significant discussions across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Raises concern over “Appeasement Politics”
Pawan Kalyan criticised what he termed selective sensitivity in politics, where issues concerning certain religious communities receive immediate attention, while concerns from Hindu devotees are dismissed as insignificant. He insisted that law and respect must be equal for all religions.
He remarked that calling Hindu issues “small matters” while being highly cautious about other religions builds mistrust among people. “If the law applies one way to Muslims and Christians, it must apply the same way to Hindus,” he said, emphasising that political convenience should never suppress cultural traditions.
Hindu majority is a “myth,” says Pawan Kalyan
Pawan Kalyan argued that although Hindus appear to be the numerical majority, social divisions based on caste, region, language, and identity weaken the community as a whole. According to him, this fragmentation makes Hindus vulnerable despite their population size.
“If Hindus were truly united, incidents like this would not happen,” he said, calling for greater unity and awareness.
Every Hindu must speak up for Sanatana Dharma
The Deputy Chief Minister asserted that speaking about Sanatana Dharma is not limited to leaders or priests. Every devotee who visits a temple or follows traditional practices must voice concerns when sacred traditions are undermined.
He added that protecting ancient culture is a collective responsibility, not a political obligation.
Pawan Kalyan questions former CM Jagan’s alleged remark
A major highlight of Pawan’s statement was his criticism of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who reportedly described the Tirupati Laddu issue as a “small matter.” Pawan challenged this viewpoint, asking whether the same dismissive tone would be used for issues involving other religions.
“Does he have the courage to speak that way about Islam or Christianity?” Pawan asked, adding that a leader who served five years as Chief Minister must uphold equal respect for every religion.
Comments on Tamil Nadu Government
Pawan also reacted to controversies in Tamil Nadu, where certain Hindu practices and temple traditions were allegedly disrupted. He advised the DMK government to keep political opposition separate from cultural hostility.
“If you want to oppose BJP or Prime Minister Narendra Modi, do it politically. But do not target an entire religion,” he said firmly.
Sanatana Dharma must be protected collectively
Pawan reiterated that weakening Hindu traditions for political mileage is dangerous. He insisted that religious harmony cannot survive if one community’s beliefs are routinely belittled.
His message emphasized that cultural identity must never be sacrificed for political gain and that Hindu devotees must remain vigilant about issues involving temples and rituals.
Public reaction and viral momentum
The video of Pawan Kalyan’s comments has been trending online, especially on platforms like X, Instagram, and YouTube. Many supporters applauded him for openly addressing the imbalance in political narratives surrounding religion.
On the other hand, some critics argued that political leaders must be careful with religious commentary in order to avoid widening social divides.
Regardless of political ideology, Pawan Kalyan’s remarks have sparked a national conversation about religious equality, governance, and the role of leadership in safeguarding cultural traditions.
