In a shocking and emotional revelation, iBomma Admin Immadi Ravi reportedly broke down during police interrogation, blaming his wife and mother-in-law for the path his life had taken. His statements have now become a major talking point across Telugu states, unfolding a painful story behind one of India’s most notorious piracy platforms.
A Difficult Childhood and Struggling Career
According to interrogation details, Ravi described a troubled early life. His parents had separated, leaving him and his sister to be raised by their father, a small bank employee. After completing a modest degree from Andhra University in Visakhapatnam, he worked hard to build a career as a web designer. His salary was low, but he believed it was enough to live a simple life.
Love Marriage That Turned Into Pressure
Ravi said that marrying the woman he loved brought unexpected pressure instead of happiness. His wife and mother-in-law allegedly compared him to others, repeatedly insulting him in front of society. Whenever he struggled financially, he faced harsh comments, humiliation, and emotional torture. He claimed that their constant criticism broke his confidence and pushed him into desperation.
“They Never Believed in Me” — Emotional Breakdown
Ravi revealed that even when he showed his genuine efforts, his wife and her mother dismissed him as a failure. He said their attitude was not because he lacked income, but because he came from a broken family and failed to meet their expectations.
He stated, “Every time I looked at their faces, I felt like I wasn’t a human. Their insults, their society-driven comments… I couldn’t take it anymore.”
The Beginning of iBomma: A Desperate Path
Using his web-design experience, Ravi decided to create the now-infamous iBomma website, which soon became a widespread source of pirated Telugu movies. Initially, traffic was low — until the second COVID wave in 2021. During the pandemic lockdown, with theatres closed, iBomma exploded in popularity.
Ravi claimed that his first major income came not from movies, but from betting apps and loan apps, earning around ₹75 lakhs in a short span. “For the first time in my life, I felt like I achieved something,” he reportedly told police.
Family Still Didn’t Accept Him
When Ravi returned home and showed proof of his earnings, he said his wife and mother-in-law still didn’t believe him. “That’s when I realized they never wanted me. Their goal was to push me away,” he emotionally confessed.
He claimed that the very people who drove him toward this illegal path were now the reason he was caught. “I know why I’m here today. They are the reason for my rise… and my fall.”
Police Continue Investigation
The police are currently verifying the accuracy of Ravi’s emotional statements. Cyber Crime officials say this confession may help uncover deeper layers of the financial network behind iBomma’s operations.
