The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) has set the stage for one of the most ambitious sports projects in India a new international cricket stadium in Amaravati. If approved, this mega-stadium could accommodate up to 1.25 lakh spectators, surpassing the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, currently the largest cricket ground in the country. According to ACA officials, the stadium is envisioned as a multi-event hub that will function year-round as part of a larger sports city. For this, the association has sought land allocation from the Andhra Pradesh state government.
