Telugu cinema’s power star and Jana Sena Party chief, Pawan Kalyan, has made it clear that his upcoming film Hari Hara Veera Mallu is not a project taken lightly. Amidst his demanding political commitments, the actor-politician said he worked tirelessly to ensure the film wouldn’t appear rushed or half-hearted.
I didn’t want people to think I’m doing films casually due to politics. That’s why I gave my best for this movie," said Pawan during a media interaction as part of the film’s promotions.
Pawan Kalyan, who has resumed promotions with interviews and public interactions, emphasized his dedication despite several hurdles.
“Cinema is My Only Source of Income”
Reflecting on the challenges, Pawan said political situations over the past few years caused delays in the projects he had committed to. He acknowledged that cinema remains his sole source of income and completing his films is a responsibility he takes seriously.
He also addressed the boycott trends being promoted by opposition parties.
"No one forces audiences to watch films with a gun. Let viewers decide.
A Story Rooted in History
"When Krish and A.M. Ratnam approached me with this script, I was intrigued. This is a strong story, and Krish crafted it with a solid screenplay," he added.
Despite pandemic-related delays and the five-year production span, Pawan said the film did not lose its relevance.
"We all worked hard to bring out a quality output," he explained.
Balancing Action and Logic
Known for his martial arts expertise, Pawan revealed he was involved not just as an actor but also with the technical aspects of filmmaking.
"I think more like a technician than just an actor. I’ve choreographed some sequences in my style, including the climax. I can’t do stunts like I did in my twenties, and politics took a toll on my health. But I still gave it my all," he said.
A Message to the Public
Pawan concluded with a subtle message to those in power, saying that while help is optional, causing harm should never be.
"The previous government tried to suppress my films. Even if ticket prices were reduced to ₹10 or ₹15, we were not afraid. I couldn’t balance politics and cinema before elections. I asked my producers to understand, and they did," he said.
With Hari Hara Veera Mallu, Pawan Kalyan is set to make a strong comeback on screen, proving that passion, dedication, and purpose still drive his cinematic journey even while navigating a turbulent political landscape.
